B12 Boosters
The Vitamin B12 injection is an effective treatment for addressing a deficiency. In the UK, available form is hydroxocobalamin, which is administered by injection. While vitamin B12 tablets, known as cyanocobalamin, can be over the counter at pharmacies or health stores, they are generally not as effective as the injection for raising B12 levels in the body. Who should get the Vitamin B12 injection? You can book an appointment at Delange Skin and Woundcare Clinics if you meet any of the following criteria:
1. You have been diagnosed with Vitamin B12 deficiency by your GP (please bring proof, dated within three months).
2. You have undergone bariatric surgery and need B12 to prevent deficiency (proof required, dated within three months).
3. You have received initial treatment for B12 deficiency due to pernicious anaemia and require ongoing maintenance therapy (proof required). We look forward to assisting you in maintaining your health!

If you have already done the test and need to start the therapy with Vitamin B12 now, you must bring a copy of a letter from your doctor within the last 3 months to the appointment which clearly states the diagnosis and requirement to be started on Vitamin B12 injections.

Already receiving Vitamin B12 therapy?
Yes, you can continue your injections with us. Simply book an appointment and ask your GP to complete the form sent to you before your visit. Alternatively, you can provide a printed or emailed copy of your NHS medical record (dated within the last 6 months) showing your name, date of birth, and diagnosis.

How often are injections needed?
This depends on the cause of your deficiency. Injections are typically given every 6 months for dietary deficiencies, or every 2–3 months for pernicious anaemia.
